Our Historical Journey
In early 2007, the Lake City Historical Society embarked on what appeared at first to be a project well beyond its means - the production of a 100+ page hard-cover history of the community. The estimated cost of $30,000, could not be financed from a bank account that seldon showed a balance exceeding $2,000.
Then, four local enterprises; Lake City Federal Bank, Lake City Medical Center, Hearth and Home Technology, and the Lake City Graphic, stepped forward to help finance the production.
Lake City, Minnesota, Our Historical Journey, published by the Donning Co. of Virginia Beach, VA, is a stunning 8.5". x 11" 128-page limited-edition volume includes well reseached text along with 125 rare photographs.
